Actor Evaluations are necessary for actors to periodically receive a baseline assessment of their current proficiency level as well as their strengths, weaknesses, and “type”. Agents use DDA to evaluate the actors on their roster as well as new actors they are considering taking on. DDA also has actors come in and show him what they did in an audition they didn’t book, so they can receive the critical missing takeaway from not booking – feedback.
Cost: $25 | Time 15 – 30 mins
Actor Evaluations are set up to run as much like an audition as possible, with some structured dissimilarities. Actors are asked or given the option to, bring in a previous audition that they did not book or prepare a small piece to perform for the evaluation. The actors are also asked to bring their headshot and resume. In some cases actors may be given a short piece on the spot to read as a cold reading. This gives insight into the raw instincts of the actor. It’s also very effective to see the difference in performing a familiar piece of material compared to something that they have never seen before. After the evaluation DDA will provide feedback, answer questions, and discuss options for their reading, all with the goal of how to increase booking potential. These are generally not recorded so actors are more relaxed and personal. DDA Evaluations are appropriate for all ages and all experience levels and should be considered if booking percentage is low.
